Jackpot Baby!

It got down to 13° last night. The engine was frozen and hard to start. ice had formed on the front of the bow as I traveled up river on the Cumberland/ Barkley lake. After I reached my destination I noticed a nice fallen oak tree and got busy.

Traveling by boat in the winter is completely doable and it can be comfortable. I ran my wood stove today while I traveled doing a FB Livestream. I was warm, no other boaters not even a barge. Just a smooth beautiful day on the water.

I'll be heading back to Birdsong Marina after we reach Nashville to start working on the Shanty Boat Rendezvous July 24, 25 & 26th.
Birdsong Marina, Resort and Campground is the Outlaw Shanty official sponsor of the Nashville, TN adventure.

The Rendezvous will be a meetup of like minded people in all stages of shanty boat builds. People thinking and dreaming about building a boat and getting on the water. People actually in the process of a build and people on the water. In our limited conversations we will have several boats people can walk on and look at and talk with the owners. we hope to have some vendors, did trucks. There are talks about fireworks and other activities. To the best of my knowledge this will be the first such event focused on Shanty Boats and the Shanty Boat Lifestyle. We also hope to have a Swap meet for people to bring boats and boat parts. It would seem we all have random misc parts or are always looking for other stuff. this would be a great place to buy, sell or trade for what you need.
