Stressed Set Back Oncidium Orchid Bounces Back Quickly | Steps for Full Recovery - Transplant Shock

In today’s video I’ll show you my Oncidium Hilo Firecracker “New Year”. She arrived very healthy and beautiful with massive bulbs, but when I repotted, it was unfortunately in a tightly packed root ball with small bark mix which was overdue to remove. Check the video down below - it was very difficult to remove the medium, it was very broken down. Sadly the repot led to a lot of broken roots and the bulbs started shriveling up and it wouldn’t establish in its new pot till this spring. It took a few months to establish a new root system, but now it’s on its way to a full recovery.

Growing Conditions & Climate:
Almost all orchids grown indoors
Eastern Exposures (4-5 hours direct early morning sun) & LED Grow Lights
Most orchids grow under the lights
Only cool growers & orchids in bloom grow under my Eastern facing windows
Grow space doesn’t get any additional sunlight other than the LED’s
Zone 7a - Humid Subtropical
