"The guns of the Royal Dart Yacht Club will be fired at 0800hrs and this will be the signal for all vessels to dress ship and for the bells of St Saviour's to ring out."
Every year as part of the Port of Dartmouth Royal Regatta there is a gun fired to signal the start of each day of the regatta. This is a signal for boats to dress ship and the bells of St. Saviour's to ring out.
The bells are being rung for the 170th Port of Dartmouth Royal Regatta and the set of changes being called in this video is Kings.
The bells have been used to signal the start of the day since 1822, which is far before they were using the cannon to start the day.
