To create a spiral of flounces, you’ll need to prepare at least six flounces of the required size (I used the same size as in the previous lesson). Stitch three flounces together using a machine seam and press the seams open. Next, place two flounce sections right sides together and sew along the outer edge. Trim off any excess or make even notches along the seam allowance.
The next step is to turn the flounce right side out, smooth the edge, and press it. You can also topstitch along the contour if desired. The finished piece can be used either as an applied flounce or inserted into a seam.
