Part two of our 1 week trip to Costa Rica, that changed from a week spent in one spot to an impromptu tour of areas on the pacific coast, and much better birding opportunities. The bird species certainly increased with our transfer to a lodge on the edge of the Southern pacific lowlands. Cerro lodge had been a favourite location on our 2019 trip and it looked likely to uphold that on this visit. Would we see any lifers? Well, mangrove hummingbird was a target and Lesser Ground-Cuckoo was still on our 'wants' list too. It remained to be seen if we would find them.
