Another delve back into the archives for a 10 day birding trip we made to Northern Belize, way back in 2008. The first part of the trip was spent in a lodge in the middle of a private wildlife reserve near the Guatamalan border, called Chan Chich. What's more, the lodge was based in the plaza of a largely unexcavated Maya city! It is possibly the most unusual place that we have ever stayed.
Back then, the photography equipment (and skills) were not quite as good, but we did manage a few images of species that we have never seen again.
