Off-road test! Toyota Tundra hybrid 2025 review: Limited | Is the new Ram 1500 rival a good 4WD?

The 2025 Toyota Tundra is hear to make its presence felt as the Japanese car brand's first full-size pick-up to be sold in Australia. Like its Ram 1500, Chevrolet Silverado and Ford F-150 rivals, the dual-cab is converted from left- to right-hand drive locally, in this instance with the expert help of Walkinshaw Automotive Group, the parent company of Holden Special Vehicle (HSV).

Where the Tundra is different to its rivals, though, is under the bonnet, where it features an i-Force Max self-charging hybrid powertrain that combines a 3.4-litre twin-turbo petrol V6 engine with an electric motor for combined outputs of 326kW of power and 790Nm of torque. A 0-100km/h acceleration time of about six seconds is properly quick given the amount of metal that needs to be moved.
