Abysmal traffic around Woodhead meant I missed the outbound section of this run (they really should build a railway around there!)
So I made an extra special expedition into deepest and very darkest Yorkshire for the return.
Hebden Bridge really is overwhelming with the amount of diverts due to Huddersfield being closed.
I've never seen so many services or people!
I retreated back over the boarder to the secluded and tranquil Astley level crossing where I got slightly obsessed with the unique sounds of ever different class passing over the spongy bog that is Chat Moss.
Astley is probably the only level crossing in the world that feels like a trampoline when a train passes by!
