New York Basketball, once considered the Mecca of the sport itself, has been in a huge drought since they lost in the Conference Finals to begin the 2000s decade. For that entire decade we seen Knicks struggle for relevance, go through more coaches then I can count, waste pick after pick, and only make the playoffs twice. But things magically looked like it was going to improve once they made the viral trade to take in 2003 NBA Draft standout and Hall of Famer Carmelo Anthony to save the franchise. However, 2 first round exits, and losing to the Pacers in 2013, the Knicks despite throwing the kitchen sink at Carmelo are now back in the basement of the NBA. They thought he was the answer, but he only brought as much controversy as the Knicks already had years before, and now it’s time for another look at the idea board to try another rebuild. A rebuild that went through 6 head coaches, more and more draft busts, and management making risks after risk. But unlike most stories I talk about on this channel, one of these risks worked out, and turned into the New York Knicks becoming one of the best teams in the Eastern Conference with Jalen Brunson and Karl Anthony Towns, and now able to compete for the Larry O’Brian trophy. But like all rebuilds. They started from very very humble beginnings. This is the story of How the New York Knicks Returned as the Mecca of Basketball!
