"Gilbert Gottfried sits in for The News" (February 16, 2000 -

Comedian Gilbert Gottfried came in to hang out during Robin's news segment. Howard spent a few minutes talking to Gilbert before the news. Gilbert has become some what of a regular on Hollywood Squares lately so Howard asked him about hanging out with Whoopi Goldberg. Gilbert said he went to Whoopi's Christmas party and wandered around for a while. Howard tried to find out what famous celebrities were at the party but it was like getting blood from a stone. Gilbert did mention that Robert DeNiro was there as well as Robert Klein, Liza Minelli, Sarah Jessica Parker and Matthew Broderick. Gilbert said he ended up hanging around with Tom Bergeron and Caroline Ray, two other Hollywood Squares stars. Gilbert says he's too shy to talk to the other celebrities there.

Mike Gange came in and said that he saw Gilbert at Scores one night and he'd brought his own women with him to dance for him. Gilbert said he did that so he wouldn't have to tip the dancers. Gary also came in and told Howard that in Gilbert's pre-interview Benjy found out that when Gilbert was 15 he used to go into comedy clubs and pretended to be comedian's agents. He'd critique their delivery and their material just as a goof. He doesn't remember if any of them became famous. All he remembers is that they used to get really pissed at him.

Robin tried to do her news stories while Gilbert added his usual inappropriate comments during every story. MarksFriggin.com's favorite guest Gilbert Gottfried will be appearing at Caroline's Comedy Club on Thursday, February 17.
