On Episode 204, we're circling back to a topic from Episode 202: obesity reporting!
Our host, Paula Digby, is tackling the term "morbidly obese." Does that phrase give you the warm and fuzzies? Probably not, and it turns out, the ICD-10 Coordination and Maintenance Committee felt the same way. In their September 2022 discussions, they decided to move away from that language, which led to the new, more specific obesity classes: Class 1, 2, and 3—reported with the E66.81- series.
