What is it like to 'fly' a remotely operated vehicle (ROV) in the rough seas of Bass Strait?
Scientists from the Institute of Marine and Antarctic Studies at the University of Tasmania revisited the depths of Beagle Marine Park in August last year.
With the help of an ROV, they captured stunning imagery of the creatures living in this protected area, once part of the land bridge connecting Victoria and Tasmania.
Colourful sponge gardens, sharks, a shipwreck and the action above-water are some of the highlights featured in this video, put together by the Marine and Coastal Hub.
This voyage was supported by funding from the Australian Government under the National Environmental Science Program and the National Collaborative Research Infrastructure Strategy (NCRIS).
