In this video, I explain the parts and components of a non-ABS front brake system, how they work when you operate them, how to use the brake lever and apply the pressure correctly and finally highlight the most common mistakes made by novice/new riders and what generally causes those mistakes.
This video is aimed at people new to riding motorcycles. When I emphasise the use of 4 fingers on the brake, or 4 fingers on the throttle, I am not saying that 1, 2, or 3 finger braking is bad.
I am merely saying that new riders, with little to no experience, should concentrate and learn the basics before they move on to more advanced techniques.
The reason novice riders are taught to use 4 finger throttle/brake control is to teach them both physically and mentally, to separate the operation of those 2 controls.
Once they gain experience, confidence and the co-ordination, it is then time to start thinking about covering the brakes while operating the throttle at the same time.
Learn the basics first.
If you have any questions, feel free to leave a comment and I will get back to you.
