Diving the Socorro Islands was the experience of a lifetime. I needed that on so many levels, and it delivered.

Since getting back a few weeks ago, I spent some time photoshoping and learning how to video edit, in the hopes of doing it justice.

But how can you? I can confirm that there aren't enough frames in a second to fully capture the awe and majesty in motion of giant mantas. There is no footage that can ever describe the feelings of serenity, vulnerability, micro-panic, and respect that happen all at once when a friendly shark and his amigos are curiously circling you. Or the feeling of simply being, when you look up at the Milky Way lit up a against a pitch black night sky...

Still. You owe it to a place like this to try. So I hope this here inspires you to get out there, to learn more about these creatures, and these places, and maybe to try diving! But if anything else, this is for the memories!
