In Part 2, the customer decided not to replace the smart lock, and just have the Yale PBS1 nightlatch fitted on its own. That meant I needed to do a bit of custom work to make everything fit and look right again.
What I did:
🔧 Fitted the PBS1 nightlatch securely
🪚 Drilled new holes to mount the security cylinder
🪓 Chopped in the keep on the frame
🛠️ Repaired the large hole left in the door from the smart lock
🎨 Once painted, the door will look like the smart lock was never there
A clean, secure result, and the door is now fully functional with just the key access the customer wanted.
