Praia da Ursa is a beach located near Cabo da Roca in the municipality of Sintra , Portugal. Given its proximity to the cape, it is the westernmost beach in Europe.
It was considered by the Michelin Guide to be one of the most beautiful beaches in the world.
Description and access
Considered one of the most beautiful in the country, access is very difficult and dangerous. On the road, near Cabo da Roca , a sign indicates its name - following on foot along a dirt path you reach a deserted place where there is a sign saying "Beach not supervised". From there, take a path, on the left, that runs along the slope in zigzags to the beach. This is the best path (the one that goes straight ahead and appears to be the main one, as it is wider and requires climbing skills). It is advisable to always be accompanied.
Once on the sand, the view is astonishing, with the colossal Ursa and Gigante rocks marking the coastline. During low tide it is possible to discover contiguous coves - Palaia, to the south, where barnacle fishermen are frequent, and Pesqueiro do Abrigo, to the north. Prepare yourself for an hour of walking (an hour and a half for the return trip), properly equipped with a good pair of boots, food and drink. (source - Wikipedia)
