Translocation of two Buffalo Safely back to the Volcanoes National Park!

Our dedicated veterinary team recently took on a unique opportunity to safely translocate two African buffalo from a lodge in the Musanze District back to their rightful home in Volcanoes National Park.
These majestic animals had left the park and were residing within one of the lodges near the park. Our intervention not only helped save the buffalo but also prevented potential human-wildlife conflict, underscoring the importance of coexistence and prompt action in conservation efforts.
Thanks to the quick response and expertise of our veterinary team, supported by our mobile veterinary clinic, the buffalo were safely immobilised, transported, and released back into the wild. We also thank the local communities, the park authorities, and all our partners who supported this operation. Their collaboration made this success possible!
