Nasi Goreng:Fried Rice Inspired by Royal Naval Academy meals & Dutch Chinees-Indisch Takeout

This is my personal take on nasi goreng, the classic Indonesian fried rice dish I grew up eating—from our local Chinees-Indisch afhaalrestaurant in the Netherlands, to weekly Indonesian meals at the Royal Naval Academy that always featured it on the menu.

In this video, I’ll show you step-by-step how I recreate that same flavor, but without pork. Instead, I use smoked turkey breast and tender, aromatic chicken—flavored with ketjap manis, garlic, and just the right amount of sambal. It's the perfect balance of sweet, savory, and umami with that signature Indonesian edge. 🍚🔥
