First time flying in the clouds! IFR training EP 2.

It's finally time to fly through some clouds! I have always loved flying around the clouds since the first day I stepped foot in an airplane. There is just something mesmerizing about clouds! This time I got to be at the controls while flying through the clouds for the first time! Experiencing actual IMC conditions was an eye-opener, and it showed me that we pilots need to stay on our game. Disorientation is a real thing, and it can get dangerous very fast. We need to make sure we are staying proficient, so we do not end up in an unusual attitude heading straight into terrain.

On this flight, Racheal and I fly from Henderson to Lexington, KY, to get the airplane worked on. The air was surprisingly smooth that day, and stormy weather was supposed to come in that evening. We had a great flight, and I learned a lot about IFR cross-country operations. I'm halfway through my training and hope to be finished soon! After the instrument rating, it's off to commercial!
