South India, Karnataka: “from the Shiva of Murusdeshwar to the Market of Mysore”

In January-February 2023, after several years of forced absence due to the covid epidemic, we were finally able to visit our beloved India again. We make an extensive tour through South India; the states of Karnataka, Kerala and Tamil Nadu. The trip was organized by our special friend in India, Samar Pradhan (Email: [email protected] / [email protected]).
South India is breathtaking. Famous for its fantastic UNESCO World Heritage Sites, varied cuisines, verdant landscapes and cosmopolitan cities. South India is a rhapsody in green. On this tour you will discover the many facets of this region: from the beautiful temples, ancient folk art with the power to be exciting, a surprisingly rich Jewish history, impressive panoramic views of lush hill stations, interactions with the locals and of course the scenic backwaters .
In this video report we share some images of our visit to Gokarna, the sea fun, fish harbor and the temple of Murudeshwar, we end in Mysore.

At the temple of Murdeshwara there is a huge Shiva statue 40 meters high. It is the second tallest Shiva statue in the world. The Murdeshwara Temple is built on the Kanduka Hill which is surrounded on three sides by the waters of the Arabian Sea. The temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva. The temple has a 20 storey Raja Gopura. Very impressive.
We entered the temple and received our blessing, but filming inside the temple is not allowed.
Last but not least, we will visit Mysore. We like to experience the ordinary life in India. No better place to experience that than at the local market. A comprehensive report.
