The Town of Kremmling is located in Grand County, Colorado, at an elevation of 2,255 metres (7,399 feet). Kremling is at the intersections of State Highway 9, and U.S. Highway 40 - about 32 kilometres (20 miles) west of Granby, Colorado.
At the time of this recording the town's population was well over 1,500. The town was founded in 1881 during the Colorado Silver Boom days, but the lack of mineral resources in the nearby mountains kept the town's early growth very slow.
