Arch definition is - a typically curved structural member spanning an opening and serving as a support (as for the wall or other weight above the opening).
The sole of the equine foot has varying angles. These angles represent the arch. As bodyweight transfers through the sole these angles can change causing the arch to change and weaken altering the plane of the Distal phalanx (PIII).
