The Glenbrook Vintage Railway staged a number of excursions within the King Country and Waikato areas with Ww 644 on 23/24 August 2025, as she returned from Feilding at the bottom of the North Island.
On Saturday 23rd, the train featured 644 for a small portion of the leg home with GVR's two trusty diesel locos, before detaching at Porootarao and proceeding to Hamilton by herself and the tank wagon as scheduled.
The following day after hauling two excursions to Morrinsville and Huntly which yours truly was onboard for, the train headed empty home to Glenbrook - where 644 made it back on home soil for the first time since her epic journey south to Palmerston North began in June.
We follow 644 on her return journeys north from both Taumarunui and Hamilton respectively on each day with our Lineside camera only.
