The operation in the New Forest has largely run itself since its inception. Its routes are profitable and tend to not get busy enough to warrant a second look, it just plods along in the background but nevertheless a valuable part of the South Coast Busways network. However there is one route in the New Forest Greens network that has been bothering me. The 337 runs between Lymington and Sway via some back streets in Lymington before running cross country and doing a full circuit of Sway. The route runs with the MV-type which are the smallest buses in the entire National Busways fleet with a full and standing capacity of just 30. This week we'll give the 337 the second look it needs by reworking it's route in Lymington, and cutting the circuit of Sway to allow it to extend down to Baron-on-Sea via New Milton. Along with the extension and rerouting, it'll also get an upgrade to the MCS-type. Additionally, the final 6 of the cascaded WV-types from Midland Red to Jurassic County at Mallard Road will be pressed into service on new route 13 between the Littledown Estate and Talbot Village via Bournemouth Town Centre.
