The animated feature film Moana debuted in 2016, with an all-star cast of voices. It received Academy Award nominations for Best Animated Feature and Best Original Song for How Far I'll Go. This percussion-forward medley includes How Far I'll Go, We Know the Way, Where You Are, and You're Welcome. The film's soundtrack was released by Walt Disney Records in 2016, with songs written by Opetaia Foa'i; Mark Mancina, who previously collaborated with the studio on Tarzan and Brother Bear; and Lin-Manuel Miranda, composer of Hamilton. The lyrics are in English, Samoan, and the Tokelauan language.
