In the autumn of 2019, I went on a gravel bike trip in Spain's Province of Cuenca. This region east of Madrid is sparsely populated and it has some remarkable landscapes.
It was solo trip on a 3T Exploro gravel bike: 7 days, 1000km, approx. 15000m elevation.
Starting in Madrid, over the Via Verde to the East. Then mostly on gravel paths from one village to the other to sleep in hotels. A visit to the city of Cuenca and it's surroundings is a must, together with the La Raya cliffs in Uña and the Ruta de las Caras (route of the faces) around the Buendia lake.
