"দুই ঘণ্টা যাবত বাই রোটেশন পুলিশ তাদের টর্চার সেলে নিয়ে আমার হাঁটুতে মারতেই থাকে। ওখান থেকে চোখ বেঁধে, দুইজন দুই হাত, আর দুই জন দুই পা ধরে প্রিজন ভ্যানে করে নির্জন একটা জায়গায় নিয়ে যায়। ওরা আমার নি জয়েন্টে ঠাণ্ডা কিছু একটা ঠেকায়, তারপর গুলি করে, প্রথম গুলি ফায়ার হয় কিন্তু গুলি বের হয় নি। দ্বিতীয় গুলি যখন করে আমার পা’টা মনে হলো জোরে একটা আছাড় দিয়ে আবার মাটিতে পড়ে গেলো।"সপ্রান আয়োজিত আলোচনা সভা “Kneecapping Democracy: Silencing Dissent by Crippling Bodies in Bangladesh”- এ শামসুল আলম বুলবুল পুলিশের নির্মমতার অভিজ্ঞতা বর্ণনা করতে গিয়ে জানান নি ক্যাপিং এর ভয়াবতা। পরবর্তীতে চিকিৎসা থেকে শুরু করে আইনী হয়রানি, কীভাবে আমাদের ক্রিমিনাল জাস্টিস সিস্টেম সিকিউরিটি ফোর্সের অপরাধকে বৈধতা প্রদান করেছে। “For two hours, on a rotational basis, the police kept taking me into their torture cell and beating my knee. From there, they blindfolded me; two people held my arms and two others held my legs, and took me in a prison van to a deserted place. They pressed something cold against my knee joint and then shot me. The first shot was fired, but no bullet came out. When they fired the second shot, it felt as if my leg had been violently slammed and then thrown back onto the ground.”At the discussion organized by Sapran titled “Kneecapping Democracy: Silencing Dissent by Crippling Bodies in Bangladesh,” Samsul Alam Bulbul described the brutality of the police and the horrors of kneecapping. He further spoke about the ordeal that followed, from medical neglect to legal harassment and how the criminal justice system has effectively legitimized crimes committed by the security forces.
