Ingredients for Carbonnade Flamande:
✔️ 1 kg (2.2 lb) beef (preferably chuck or neck)
✔️ 1 l (34 fl oz) dark beer
✔️ 3 tsp mustard
✔️ 2–4 slices of rye bread or spiced bread
✔️ 250 g (8.8 oz) smoked bacon
✔️ 30 g (1 oz) butter
✔️ 400 g (14 oz) onions
✔️ 2 clvoes of garlic
✔️ 1–2 tsp brown sugar
✔️ thyme, bay leaf, rosemary, cloves
✔️ juniper berries (optional)
✔️ salt and pepper
