Ted Tsukiyama was born in 1920 in Honolulu, Hawaii. During World War II, he was a member of the Varsity Victory Volunteers, then served with the 442nd Regimental Combat Team and the Military Intelligence Service. Following military service, graduated from Yale Law School and became an attorney in Hawaii. In this clip, he shares what it was like to be discharged from the Hawai’i Territorial Guard for the sole reason of being Japanese American.
