Determination of a confined space and knowing how to eliminate the risk can be tricky, but is extremely important. In this video, part 2 of 5, Laurie discusses how you can determine whether an area is considered to be a confined space and how you can reduce the risk.
Laurie uses the example of a storm water drain to explain whether a space would be confined. He also discusses the issues to consider when eliminating the risk of a confined space.
As mentioned, we have 5 videos in our confined spaces video series. The topics covered in other videos are:
What is a confined space? (an overview)
Controls and Permits for confined spaces
Emergency Procedures and First Aid
Training for Workers entering a confined space
Total Management and Training have been providing assistance to organisations for many years in health, safety, training and business management. We have been involved for many years in determination of confined spaces and preparation of confined space entry procedures and provision of confined space entry training.
