This video features a custom rework of the original “Charlies!” mission included with Sea Power: Naval Combat in the Missile Age. I rebuilt the scenario to incorporate several NTU mod units and focused the opposition around a single Charlie-class SSGN to create a more deliberate and atmospheric ASW hunt.
During the playthrough we also take a close look at the long-hull USS Rentz, an Oliver Hazard Perry–class frigate added through the NTU mod. Of course given my background I was super excited to see a long hull Perry in the game done so well.
If you have been waiting to see the long-hull Perry in action or are interested in Cold War–era submarine warfare, this is a detailed look at a classic scenario brought forward with new capabilities.
