God did not raise himself from the dead

Jesus died on the cross, but God did not die. This is a serious problem that the doctrine of the Trinity cannot explain.

God did not die because he is immortal (1 Timothy 6:16). Jesus, however, died for our sins (Romans 5:6,8; 10:9). This means that Jesus is not God.

Some theories of atonement require that Jesus is God so that his death can pay an infinite ransom. These theories require that God died, something which the Bible tells us cannot happen. From this one must draw the conclusion that these theories of the reason for the death of Jesus are wrong.

The death of Jesus on the Cross strikes a blow at two of the most cherished views of Conventional Christianity. Real Christianity accepts that Jesus died on the Cross.
