1. The Increase of Trials and the Disappearance of Knowledge
The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ linked the arrival of major trials to the loss of sacred knowledge:

"Truly, Allah does not take away knowledge by snatching it away from the people, but He takes away knowledge by taking away the scholars, until when no scholar remains, people take the ignorant as leaders. They are asked and they give religious rulings (Fatwas) without knowledge, so they go astray and lead others astray." (Sahih Al-Bukhari and Sahih Muslim)

2. The Preservation of the Heart Through Knowledge
In a famous Hadith describing the Fitnas, the Prophet ﷺ explained that only the heart that recognizes and rejects the trial will be saved:

"Trials will be presented to hearts like a reed mat, woven stick by stick... whichever heart rejects them, a white mark will be put on it until all hearts become one of two kinds: one white like a smooth stone which will not be harmed by any trial as long as the heavens and the earth endure..." (Sahih Muslim)

Note: The "white heart" is the one illuminated by the light of Revelation and certain knowledge (Yaqeen).

3. Seeking Refuge in the Deen
Allah (SWT) provides a sanctuary for those who hold onto the Rope of Allah during times of division:

"And hold firmly to the rope of Allah all together and do not become divided." (Surah Ali 'Imran, 3:103)

Scholars explain that the "Rope of Allah" is the Qur'an and the Sunnah, the study of which is the only way to avoid the sectarianism and confusion of the End Times.
