I walked out to the Ness of Sound, which is on the outskirts of Lerwick, on a sunny day in September. As well as exploring the second world war gun emplacements the walk has great coastal views and wildlife to enjoy. I am currenly reading Air Raid Islands which was written by Samuel Sjoberg, it documents all the raids Shetland suffered during the war.
