Using case examples, this presentation demonstrates how to apply the principles of TIC during clinical encounters with patients either disclosing or at risk of intimate partner violence.
By the end of this session, participants will be able to:
• Define trauma and trauma-informed care (TIC) principles.
• Describe the applications of TIC to their respective health care setting.
• Apply the principles of TIC to assessing risk and developing care plans for patients experiencing intimate partner violence.
