Hey everyone! Welcome to Comics Class #19: Foreshortening! I think I've had more requests for this one than for anything else. Foreshortening is the effect of a part of the body (or anything really) getting bigger, and "shorter", as it tilts toward you. It's a comic book staple -- think of the classic big Jack Kirby hand. It's dramatic and arresting, but it's also pretty difficult, requiring a strong command of both perspective and anatomy. Here I'll show you a few tricks and concepts that should help you with this tricky aspect of drawing!
