Siopao Asado | Mix N Cook

Good day! Today, we're going to make Siopao ala Henlin that is Asado flavor. This dough is soft and fluffy while the filling has the right amount of sweetness and saltiness to it. Let's go!

Ingredients:

Siopao Dough:
2 1/2 cups or 330 g bread flour or all-purpose flour
1/2 cup or 75 g sugar
1/4 cup or 30 g powdered milk
2 tsp. or 6 g yeast
1/8 tsp. salt
1 pc. egg
1/2 cup or 100 ml water
2 tbsp. shortening or oil

Asado Filling:
200 g meat
2 cloves garlic
1 small size onion
1 pc. bay leaf
1 pc. star anise
1/8 cup soy sauce
1 1/2 cup water
1/4 cup brown sugar
1/8 tsp. pepper

Slurry:
1 tbsp. cornstarch
1 tbsp. water
