This course is for everyone who'd like to improve their posture and learn to "sit correctly".
Through simple exercises and a little theory in anatomy and biomechanics, discover how good posture works and the underlying principle.
Not only can this reduce pain caused by bad posture, but the knowledge and coordination learned in this class are also a great preparation for anyone wishing to take up dancing or martial arts lessons or any other kinds of sports.
We start by learning some simple techniques to improve your breathing.
Then, we learn how to stand for a long time without hurting our lower back. The lessons in the standing chapter are an excellent preparation for all kinds of different activities (also yoga, t'ai chi, chi-gong...) because we emphasize the control of the pelvis, where all movement starts.
You then move on to learning the forefoot strike in walking - an excellent way of relaxing your spine and a great way of preserving your joints.
Last, but certainly not least, you learn a correct sitting posture. It will turn out, that sitting is almost as much of an active movement as walking. Used this way, sitting will be effortless and painless. It can also prevent slipped discs and other sitting related physical problems.
All exercices are easy to do for reasonably healthy people and do not require any special skills.
