Security arrangements have been intensified in Udupi ahead of the Laksha Kantha Geetha Parayana programme scheduled to be held at the Sri Krishna Math premises on November 28, in connection with the visit of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

A Special Protection Group (SPG) team inspected the preparations and stage construction on Tuesday morning. Udupi Deputy Commissioner Swaroopa T.K., Superintendent of Police Hariram Shankar, and MLA Yashpal A. Suvarna were present during the inspection.

Officials have directed the police to strengthen security by installing CCTV cameras, placing barricades along key routes, deploying adequate police personnel, and removing unauthorized banners and flex boards. Public restrictions including prohibition on carrying bags, water bottles, flags, and other items have also been issued.

Traffic regulations, parking facilities, alternative routes, and fire safety arrangements are being planned in advance to ensure smooth conduct of the event and public safety.
