More swing, they said!! So, here you go.....
Nice, simple, short lick in Bb. Pretty sure I heard this originally from Eldon Shamblin, in Bob Wills' band. But like most swing guitar, you can hear Charlie Christian and Lester Young in there, as well.
This one is based around the "D" shape of the Bb chord, up around the 10th position. Starts chromatically from the 5th (F) down to the 3rd (D), arpeggiates the Bb6 chord in that position, then goes from the lower 5th on the G string down to the 3rd again, while pedaling off the Bb on the 2nd string, 11th fret.
As always, make sure to move this around neck, in different keys....and also try starting it on different beats or messing with the phrasing, to make it your own.
