A failed attempt to remove a massive Honeybee hive

In this video I try to remove a huge honeybee hive from an old 1800s church that is now occupied by a motorcycle club. I was contacted late in the year for a removal and started that on October 4, 2025. I told them that it was too late in the year to remove the bees but I dug into them for the club. They wanted them out for insurance reasons because they have get togethers and charity events there. I was a little unprepared for the job because I was low on equipment this time of year. I didn’t have enough bee boxes or bee vac cages for the job for starters. I eventually called it quits and told them I’ll have to get more materials and wait until the spring when the time was better. Hopefully they make it through the wintertime months. I did let the bees clean all their honey back up but they still had many pounds left in their huge hive. Told one man at the club next spring I’ll order new queens and make many splits from this hive which will make many separate beehives. This hive is a good strong one also. The one member told me that they have been in this old building for many years. That was my first sign of a large hive. I drove to the hardware store and got a 1/2” sheet of plywood and boxed the cutout back up. As of September when I went back to check on them they was still alive and well.
