After a few months' break we have again set out for a weekend trip to Dublagadi, Odisha which is around 250 kms from Kolkata.
We started early from Kolkata on a Saturday morning. We took the Falaknuma Express which departs at 8:25 in the morning from Howrah. The nearest railway station to Dublagadi is Baleshwar or Balasore. We reached there around 12:30 pm. From there we took 2 autos for Rs. 750 each. It took us another 1.5 hrs time to reach Dublaguri. The road condition was okeish, for some patches it was not good at all.
We had a booking in the Bubble of Luxury resort in AC Swiss tents. The resort was specious and well decorated. They had given us 3 adjacent tents. The tents were clean with big enough bathrooms.
They had given us fresh coconut water as welcome drink. After checking in, we freshened up a bit and then straight went for lunch as we were extremely hungry. At lunch they served Rice, Daal, Alu vaja, Potol Curry, Chingri, Pamfret, Chutney, Papad.
The resort is surrounded by dense forest consisting of tall pine trees that open up to a beach. After lunch we went to the beach. It was low tide that time, the sea water had receded so we could walk far out into the sea. As the day came to an end, the sunset sky displayed vibrant red, orange, yellow hues.
After spending quite a time there we returned back to the resort. It was an adventurous walk through the jungle in the dark while coming back. Once we returned, evening snacks and tea were served in our tents.
At dinner, we had fried rice and chilli chicken which were delicious. That’s how Day 1 of our short trip comes to an end.
In the 2nd Day we woke up early in the morning and found that it was drizzling. We went straight to the beach. It was high tide that time, so the ocean covered more of the beach than yesterday. We spent 2-3 hours there, swimming, walking on the beach, watching the waves and clicking pictures.
Once we returned back to the resort, we cleaned up well and then had our breakfast where they had provided Luchi, Alur Dom, Boiled Egg and Misti.
It was then time to bid goodbye to Dublagadi. We had again booked 2 autos to reach Baleshwar station from where we took Falaknuma Exp. The right time of the train was 1:50 pm.
Finally on the tariff, the resort charged us Rs 1800 per day per head as a package for the group of 9 people which included both fooding and lodging.
This trip was a much needed break and the memories we made will last a lifetime. We can’t wait for our next adventure!
