Year 8 of the split saw the Indy Racing League officially change its name to IndyCar. In addition, Team Andretti Green and Team Rahal switched over to the IndyCar; while many smaller teams no longer could compete for wins, the competition up front was as strong as ever. Several close finishes, including a three-wide finish at Chicagoland, were had, and a great points battle broke out between 5 drivers at the end of the year. Scott Dixon was able to narrowly pull off the championship, giving the then 22-year-old his first of so far 6 championships. I hope you enjoy the video, and remember to like, comment, and subscribe!
