Loyalty, Core Values, and AGIs: How We'll Put "Loyalty" into an AGI

To be fully effective, AGIs (artificial general intelligences) will need to imbue core values such as loyalty. We investigate where in an AGI architecture core values can be inserted, and identify that value systems will need to fit into the highest level, "Goals and Mega-Controls," rather than the world model or even the reasoning components.

The Themesis three-week short course, "Top Ten Terms in Statistical Mechanics," is designed to give students a gentle-yet-intensive immersion into sufficient statistical mechanics vocabulary so that the student can go on to read papers in generative AI and AGI that were previously inaccessible.
