Kauai, Hawaii - Part 2 - Napali Coast boat tour and Kalalau hike

Part 2 of 4. All the pretty views of the North Shore of Kauai! Napali Coast is so gorgeous and I feel very blessed to have had the opportunity to explore some of it.

I booked the boat tour through Makana Boat Tours. It was great! I highly recommend them.
I also hiked the beginning section of Kalalau trail. One day, I hope to be lucky enough to get a permit to hike the entire 22 miles! (I was only able to get a day permit on this trip. Camping permits were sold out.)

Camping permits are require to hike the 11 miles out and back (even if you aren't camping.) Day permits are a little easier to get (but they sell out fast also,) and with a day permit, you can hike to Hanakāpīʻai Valley/beach. You can also hike another 2 miles to Hanakapi’ai Falls, which I did not do on this trip.
(Will these rules change in the future, I can't say. But this is how it worked in May of 2023.)
