Ferraton Pere & Fils 2016, Crozes-Hermitage | Wine Expressed

The land and the people who nurture it share a deep, intertwined history—one that grows richer with each passing generation. It all began with Jean Orëns Ferraton, a vigneron and the son of a vigneron, in the Rhône Valley in 1946.

His son, Michel, inherited his father’s passion and took it to new heights. He introduced Ferraton’s first Hermitage, Crozes-Hermitage, and Saint-Joseph wines. Michel’s close friend, Michel Chapoutier, lent his expertise to the endeavor. In 1998, the vineyards underwent a transformation to organic viticulture, achieving certification, and soon embraced biodynamic practices.

Today, Ferraton Père & Fils is propelled by a deep-seated motivation and enthusiasm. At the helm is a young and dynamic team who live and breathe the land and the vines. While staying true to their heritage, they infuse the winery with fresh inspiration and forward-thinking ideas.
