In this video, I show the technique of playing Maracas in the Bolero and Son (Son-Montuno) styles. These styles differ in tempo, but the pattern of Maracas in them can be said to be very similar. Bolero is a slow style, like a ballad, and Son is almost twice as fast. In son-Montuno style choruses, you can find variations of the pattern, when three-note notes (churning) are played twice as often.
