MARDEN to HUNTON | Kent | Ride with me

A ride from Marden village to a the much smaller village of Hunton.
In my previous video I came along the road to Marden from Staplehurst rather than wait 25 minutes at Staplehurst station for a very short train ride here.

From Marden I continue my journey towards Maidstone, passing through the village of Chainhurst to reach Hunton where I will take a break to allow the wheelchair motors to cool down before attempting the steep hill-climb up to Coxheath.

Historically this area must have generated significant income as scattered along the way I pass several huge 500 year old farmhouses which cannot have been cheap to build. Although currently the land is a mixture of open fields of arable crops and huge fruit orchards, it would have originally been dense woodland - part of an area known as The Weald of Kent. The Weald was once heavily forested and stretched 200km x 50km across much of Kent and Sussex.
