How We Met

We just finished renovating my office, and we’ve carved out a little studio space perfect for filming conversations. Having this setup means Katarina and I can make more videos where we open up about life together — me as someone living with a spinal cord injury, and her as both my partner and caregiver.

In this video, we talk about connection, and how we hope this channel can be a place to share both the peaks and the troughs of our lives.

Today: How We Met

Even though Covid made timing tough, we still knew our feelings were something we couldn't ignore. At the time, my sister, Alex and I were working on converting a school bus into an accessible travel vehicle, while Katarina was busy building out her Ford Transit van. We both loved the freedom of traveling, and honestly, we miss it a lot.

Right now, we’re really grateful for the chapter we’re in — turning our house into a home that works for us. But we also want to find a way back to the road. Traveling isn’t easy, especially for Katarina with all the transferring, equipment management, and driving it requires. We don’t know exactly what that looks like yet, but we’re hoping to connect with others who might have ideas or advice to make it possible.
