Stateline - Tahoe, Nevada

Stateline, Nevada is on the southeast edge of Lake Tahoe and straddles the California-Nevada border. This shoreline community is a large attraction for tourists with an abundance of hotel casinos on the Nevada side of the border. The Montbleu Resort Casino & Spa, Harrah’s Lake Tahoe, Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Lake Tahoe, and Harveys Lake Tahoe are all within a couple miles of each other. Because of laws restricting gambling on the California side of Stateline, many resorts provide transportation from the California side to the Nevada side for guests to enjoy some gaming fun. Harveys Lake Tahoe also boasts the Lake Tahoe Outdoor Arena, the venue for the Lake Tahoe Summer Concert Series, bringing lakeside music under the stars on the southern shore of the lake.

Heavenly Mountain Resort is another fantastic feature in the Stateline community. Heavenly offers 97 ski trails in the winter plus year-round gondola rides to Heavenly Mountain’s peak. The Shops at Heavenly line Lake Tahoe Boulevard and include retailers like Patagonia, Sunglass Hut, and Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory. There are amazing local restaurants like California Burger Company and Stateline Brewery & Restaurant. Village Shopping Center south of Heavenly Resort has a Raley’s, Tahoe Sports, Imagine Salon, and a Jamba juice bar. The center is also home to two art galleries; The Marcus Ashley Gallery and the Wyland Galleries.

In the summer, everyone can enjoy their sunny days on Lake Tahoe’s many beaches. For example, head 10 minutes north to Zephyr Cove Marina. The marina is located near Zephyr Cove Resort, giving adventurers the opportunity to parasail, water ski, jet ski, fish or rent a boat to explore the marina’s surrounding coves. Zephyr Cove Park is another popular attraction that spans 80 acres of both open and playing fields. Nextdoor is Zephyr Cove Tennis Club with six outdoor courts, a pro shop, and opportunities for tennis lessons and league play.

Edgewood Tahoe Resort is another lakeside resort in the South Lake Tahoe Community. The resort features lodging accommodations, a full spa, three on-site restaurants, and the Edgewood Tahoe Golf Course. This 18-hole course has breathtaking views with greens alongside the blue waters of Lake Tahoe and the Sierra Nevada Mountains surrounding the Edgewood Resort. The Bistro Edgewood, Edgewood Restaurant, and Brooks’ Bar & Deck offer a dining experience for every occasion.

Minutes from Edgewood is a fantastic shopping center available to Stateline residents. Shoppers can visit Anytime Fitness, Safeway, Casey’s restaurant, Harumi Sushi, and the Bean Bar. A United States Post Office is also conveniently located within the center.

Stateline’s students travel 10 minutes to Zephyr Cove for education from the Douglas County School District. Students begin at Zephyr Cove Elementary School for their curriculum from kindergarten through sixth grade. George Whittell High School welcomes both middle and high school students from Stateline. The school was named for General George Whittell, Jr. who once owned almost all of the Nevada side of Lake Tahoe. George Whittell High School is home to the Warriors.
